Copperfield Property Owners Association
Board of Directors Meeting
May 21, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present:  Chris Saretsky, Denis Riley and Ray McDermott.  Also in attendance: Will Leister and Angela Walker. Jim Cooper and Biagio Simone were absent from the meeting. 

Minutes of the April 16, 2013 meeting were provided by Angela Walker. Ray Mc Dermott made a motion to approve the minutes; Denis Riley seconded the motion and the motion was passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: 

Denis Riley provided the Board with copies of the Treasure’s report for their review. The Treasure’s report explained that a meeting was held on May 21, 2013 with Loraine from Runyan & Taylor CPA, Renae Foster, Angela Walker and Denis Riley. The meeting resulted in the CPA instructing Renae Foster to make the needed adjustments to the Copperfield POA financial records submit a revised set of financials ending March 31, 2013 to the CPA for approval and revise the April 30, 2013 statements.  At the June 18, 2013 meeting Denis Riley will review the revised statements from January through May 2013 with the Board of Directors.

Manager’s Report:
Angela Walker provided the ongoing violation report to the Board. 

Committee Reports:
ARC & ARCC – Chris Saretsky provided a list of approved ARA’s for April 16-May 20, 2013 for the Board to review.

Landscape Committee Report: Ray McDermott reported that Chuck Nelson’s office has sent the requested information regarding the community retention pond project. The report contained the scope of work needed and the approximate cost of the repairs. Angela Walker confirmed that the revised scope of work has been sent to the contactors for re-bidding.
 

Old Business:

Angela Walker reported that the meeting with Clayton & McCulloh has been rescheduled for May 23, 2013 at the Merritt Island Library at 2PM.

646 Heather Stone- It was reported that the certified letter sent to the homeowner was returned undelivered. Chris Saretsky reported that the large shed has been removed from the property and that no other action was needed at this time.

AT&T U-Verse Damage has been corrected.
 

New Business:
 
Copperfield POA CD
Ray McDermott reported that the Copperfield Property Owners Association CD is up for renewal June 1, 2013. Ray McDermott made a motion to renew the CD with Fidelity Bank at the current rate of two tenths percent interest , to remove signer Ernest Christopher Brogan and add signers James Cooper, Christine Saretsky and Denis Riley; Denis Riley seconded the motion and the motion was passed unanimously. 

Insurance Policy: Denis Riley reported that he has received a quote for the Association’s liability and D&O insurance policy that shows a substantial savings to the association if a change is made to the new provider.  The Board instructed Angela Walker to contact the current Insurance provider to ask “if the current policy is canceled before the expiration date would the Association be entitled to a refund?” If the answer is yes the Board instructed Angela Walker to obtain one additional insurance quote for consideration.

FP&L grid: Will Leister reported that he has made some progress with FP&L and will continue to update the Board on the progress being made.

Adjournment: Motion was made by Ray McDermott to adjourn; Denis Riley seconded the motion and the motion was passed unanimously by voice vote at 8:17PM.
